Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Has Died.

Updated: Sep 10, 2022

News has broken that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has died aged 96.

In respect for the monarch the homepage of the website of the Knights Templar of England & Wales has been changed to black, simply stating:

Called to higher service. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of her other realms and territories, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith. May you rest in peace. God bless you.

The Queen took a turn for the worse on the 8th September 2022 the day after asking newly appointed leader of the Conservative party, Liz Truss, to become UK Prime Minister and form a government.

Unusually the palace issued a statement at around midday on the 8th saying doctor's were concerned for the Queen's health.

This was closely followed by Prince Charles and all other high ranking royals making their way to Balmoral, where the Queen had been spending the summer.

As news of the Queen's worsening condition started to spread, and despite heavy rain, more and more people began gathering in a show of respect and support for the Queen and the royal family outside Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, and Balmoral Castle.

RIP HM Queen Elizabeth II: 21st April 1926 - 8th September 2022
